Ex-Police Officer’s Inappropriate Behavior Revealed

Share

A police officer who resigned from the force had engaged in inappropriate behavior by making offensive comments about lesbians, pornography, and sex to colleagues. Adil Mohammed, a former officer at Northumbria Police, faced a misconduct hearing where it was revealed that he had made sexualized remarks to multiple individuals while on duty.

During the summer of 2022, Mohammed commented on a colleague’s appearance, specifically focusing on their buttocks. In May of the following year, he made a suggestive comment about being disciplined by a superior, using inappropriate language. Mohammed attempted to justify his behavior by citing cultural norms from his upbringing.

Further allegations emerged regarding his interactions with another officer, where he made inappropriate comments about their physical appearance, pornography preferences, and personal relationships. While working together at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Mohammed asked intrusive questions about the officer’s personal life.

In a separate incident in December 2022, Mohammed made lewd comments to another officer while off duty in the presence of his wife. The officer felt uncomfortable and perplexed by the inappropriate remarks.

The misconduct hearing also revealed that Mohammed had engaged in inappropriate conduct with a third officer, making derogatory remarks and sexual comments. He was found to have breached professional standards and his actions were deemed as gross misconduct.

Despite denying the allegations, Mohammed was found guilty by a panel. The panel emphasized that his behavior brought discredit to the police service and lacked professionalism. If still in service, Mohammed would have faced dismissal. As a result, he will be placed on the barred list.
