Leigh-Anne Pinnock has embarked on a fresh journey with Virgin Music Group following her departure from Warner Records earlier this year. She expressed her determination in a compelling social media video, revealing that she would be taking charge of the release of her debut solo album after Warner Records declined due to budget constraints.
Updating her fans via Instagram on December 30th, the former Little Mix member announced that her album, titled “My Ego Told Me To,” would be released under Virgin Music Group, with whom she has been collaborating since earlier in the year.
In the video, Leigh-Anne shared her disappointment with her previous label, stating, “So, long story short, the label have said no basically. They don’t have the budget to put my album out, so I’m ready to take the reins. It will be a new chapter and I just can’t wait. I’m leading this s***.”
Having initially signed with Warner Records in 2022 for her solo venture, Leigh-Anne made the switch to Virgin Music Group in 2025. With several singles already out, her highly anticipated album is set for a February 2026 release.
In an optimistic tone in her post caption, Leigh-Anne expressed her excitement for the upcoming phase in her career, highlighting her readiness for more achievements. She encouraged her followers, stating, “Proof that when you trust and back yourself, doors open. If you needed a sign, this is it. You are capable. You are powerful. Don’t shrink for anyone. You are enough. You always were. Here’s to 2026, to my debut solo album My Ego Told Me To, headline tour, more love, more life, and more success.”
Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support for the singer, expressing their enthusiasm for her upcoming album release and predicting a successful year ahead for Leigh-Anne.
This development comes shortly after Leigh-Anne’s former bandmate, Jade Thirlwall, achieved acclaim with her debut album “That’s Showbiz Baby,” released by RCA Records in September, reaching number three on the UK albums chart. Another member of Little Mix, Perrie Edwards, also made her solo debut with the album “Perrie” under Columbia Records, which similarly reached number three on the UK albums chart in September 2025.
