Eva, originally born as Eva Geiringer in 1929 in Vienna, experienced imprisonment in Auschwitz-Birkenau alongside her family. Following their liberation in 1945, she returned to Amsterdam with her mother, while tragically losing her father and brother to the Nazi death camp.
Through her mother’s marriage to Otto Frank, Eva became Anne Frank’s stepsister posthumously. Throughout her life, Eva dedicated herself to Holocaust education, sharing her wartime experiences worldwide to ensure the atrocities of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
One memorable moment between Eva and the King occurred during a visit to a Jewish community center, where they shared a delightful dance. Eva later settled in London after marrying Zvi Schloss, while her mother, Frtizi, married Otto Frank the following year.
In 1990, Eva co-founded the Anne Frank Trust UK, aiming to empower youth to challenge prejudice and learn from Anne Frank’s story and the Holocaust. The Trust’s impactful initiatives have reached over 132,000 young individuals, with nearly 5,300 trained as peer educators and more than 45,000 participating in peer schemes.
