BTS Members Face Backlash for Attending Chris Brown Concert

Share

Korean pop group BTS is facing criticism from some of their fans following their appearance at American singer Chris Brown’s concert in Toronto. J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and RM (Kim Nam-joon) were seen at the show where Brown performed with Usher at Rogers Stadium. BTS is set to perform at the same venue on August 22 and 23.

A photo posted on Brown’s Instagram showed J-Hope and RM posing with the controversial singer, and videos on social media captured them enjoying the performance. Chris Brown has a troubled history with multiple assault charges, including a well-known incident involving singer Rihanna in 2009, for which he pleaded guilty.

Despite Brown’s past, BTS fans, known as the ARMY, had mixed reactions online. Some expressed disappointment in J-Hope and RM for associating with Brown, while others defended the members, suggesting they may have attended the concert primarily to see Usher. The debate among fans highlighted differing perspectives on separating an artist’s personal history from their music.

BTS representatives have not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter.
