The newest edition of the world’s original mass-produced electric car quietly commenced production today, safeguarding around 40,000 jobs in the UK.

Manufactured at a rapid pace of one vehicle per minute in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, the third generation Nissan LEAF is the outcome of a substantial £450 million investment.
