Three individuals are currently unaccounted for following a blaze that engulfed a residence during the early morning hours. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the site located on Brimscombe Hill in the vicinity of Stroud, Gloucestershire, at approximately 3am today. A sole individual successfully fled the fiery dwelling and was subsequently transported to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for medical attention. The whereabouts of the three other individuals, presumed to have been inside the premises at the time of the incident, remain unknown. Multiple road closures have been enforced in the Brimscombe Hill vicinity as investigations continue.
Simon Opher, the Member of Parliament representing Stroud, lamented the occurrence as a “tragic event impacting the entire community.” Expressing solidarity, he conveyed, “Our sympathies are with those affected. We are committed to assisting the victims and their families during this challenging time. This is indeed a tragedy for our entire community. I have reached out to law enforcement to extend our support.”
In a social media update, Councillor Chloe Turner remarked, “There was a residential fire overnight in the Brimscombe Hill area. Unless directly involved, it is advised to steer clear of the area to facilitate unimpeded emergency operations.”
Gloucestershire Police issued a statement disclosing, “Emergency services are present at a residential fire near Stroud. Upon receiving a distress call at 3am this morning (Friday, December 26), police responded to reports of a blaze at a property on Brimscombe Hill. Authorities, including teams from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and the ambulance service, promptly arrived at the scene. While one individual successfully evacuated the premises and received medical attention, efforts are ongoing to locate the three other occupants believed to have been inside. Road closures are in effect on Brimscombe Hill as emergency personnel continue their operations and the public is urged to avoid the area. A comprehensive investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.”
