“Olympic Champ Ennis-Hill Joins Sinfield in MND Charity Run”

Olympic gold medalist Jessica Ennis-Hill has confirmed her participation in Kevin Sinfield’s charitable event in Sheffield, supporting the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Ennis-Hill, a resident of Sheffield, will be running alongside Sinfield on Thursday as part of his ‘7 in 7 Together’ challenge, which involves running an ultra marathon each day for a week.

Sinfield, who commenced this challenge on Monday, has a history of organizing annual fundraisers for MND charities, having raised over £10 million to date. The funds have contributed to the establishment of a groundbreaking center in Leeds, the first of its kind in the UK.

The initiative was sparked by Sinfield’s close friend and former teammate Rob Burrow’s MND diagnosis. Sinfield’s relentless efforts have gained global recognition, and Ennis-Hill’s involvement is expected to significantly boost awareness for MND.

Ennis-Hill, a heptathlon Olympic champion in 2012 and a three-time world champion, transitioned into a successful media career post-retirement and supports various charities, including the Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Barrie Wells’ sports foundation.

Sinfield remains dedicated to finding a cure for MND, emphasizing the ongoing need for advocacy following the recent diagnosis of England World Cup winner Lewis Moody with the disease.

Moody is also actively fundraising, planning a charity dinner in April and a charity bike ride in 2026. After completing the Sheffield leg, Sinfield will continue his challenge in Cumbria, Scotland, and conclude in Leeds on Sunday.
