The latest installment of Stranger Things season 5, Volume 2 is now available for streaming on Netflix, welcoming Eleven’s ‘sister’ Kali to the adventure.
Season five’s first four episodes left viewers in suspense as Will stumbled upon his newfound superpowers, and El was reunited with her super-powered sibling Kali/Eight. Kali, portrayed by Linnea Berthelsen, originally appeared in season two’s episode ‘The Lost Sister,’ shedding light on other experimental children.
Berthelsen’s character has now resurfaced with a more prominent role in the narrative. Following her rescue in the previous volume, Kali discloses the tragic events involving the military’s actions, including the deaths of her friends and her captivity for blood extraction.
She reveals that Dr. Kay, portrayed by Linda Hamilton, aims to create more powered children, with El possessing the essential bloodline required for the experiment, linked to Henry (Jamie Campbell Bower).
During her interactions with El and Hopper, fans couldn’t help but notice the significant height contrast between the actors. Berthelsen stands at 5 feet tall, while Millie Bobby Brown is slightly taller at 5’3, and David Harbour towers at 6’3.
Sky is currently offering a complimentary Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, featuring the £15 Essential TV plan. This package allows subscribers to enjoy live and on-demand TV content without the need for a satellite dish or aerial, showcasing popular series such as Stranger Things.
Berthelsen, a British-trained actress who relocated from Denmark to London in her twenties, is 32 years old and made her breakthrough in Stranger Things season two, unexpectedly returning to the show in 2022 after being contacted by the Duffer Brothers.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Berthelsen expressed her surprise at reprising her role, emphasizing the refreshing storyline direction offered by the show’s creators. Post-Stranger Things, she starred in the thriller Devs, portraying software engineer Jen, and featured in various short films along with the sci-fi series The Desert.
Stranger Things enthusiasts can catch the new season on Netflix, delving into the latest developments in the supernatural saga.
