Four individuals have been apprehended following a disturbance involving a physical altercation and a firearm discharge in a village street on Christmas Day.
Law enforcement officers responded to reports of a man being assaulted in Bradwell Lea, Gamesley, located in Derbyshire, around 4:20 pm. The injured man, in his late teens, was transported to a hospital with severe head injuries and remains in critical condition. Shortly after the incident, a second man in his late teens arrived at Glossop Police Station with stab wounds to his abdomen and was subsequently hospitalized in stable condition.
Although CCTV footage from the scene captured what seems to be a gun being fired, neither of the hospitalized men sustained gunshot wounds, and there are no indications of anyone being harmed by a firearm.
Three men and one woman were taken into custody after armed officers descended on a residence in Hollins Close, Gamesley, in connection with the incident. A police statement confirmed that all individuals involved in the situation have been detained.
Authorities believe that both the victims and suspects are acquainted with each other, emphasizing that there is no broader threat to public safety from those involved. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the event, especially those with CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam recordings, to come forward.
