“Serial Killer Suspect Faces New Murder Charge”

A man, Richard Fox, who has admitted to killing two women, now faces a new charge for another murder, prompting concerns from police that he may be a serial killer.

Fox, aged 62, has been accused of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Crystal Curthoys, 32, whose decomposed remains were discovered at a property owned by Fox in Niagara Falls, New York. He is currently serving a prison sentence for the murders of Cassandra Watson, 40, in 2003, and Marquita Mull, 50, in 2021.

Having confessed to the killings of Watson and Mull, Fox disposed of their bodies in Chautauqua Rails to Trails, near his hometown. Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone suspects that Fox may have committed more murders and is exploring potential connections to unsolved cases.

Sheriff Quattrone expressed his belief in the existence of additional victims, urging Fox to provide more information to help solve these cases.

Prosecutors revealed that Fox had a relationship with Watson in 2000, and she was last seen in Buffalo, New York. Mull also disappeared in Buffalo, and her remains were found near Watson’s body.

After Fox’s arrest in January, an investigation of his property led to the discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman wrapped in a tarp. Dental examination confirmed the identity of the remains as belonging to Curthoys.

It has come to light that Fox had prior convictions for child sex offenses, including third-degree rape of a 14-year-old girl in 1993. He was also convicted of first-degree attempted rape and aggravated sexual abuse of a 42-year-old woman in Buffalo, receiving a 15-year sentence. In September, he was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.

During sentencing, Judge Suzanne Maxwell condemned Fox, labeling him as “evil” and stating that he should never be released. Fox is currently held in Niagara County jail and is scheduled to appear in court on January 5.
