Being a devoted user of the air fryer, I find myself using this handy kitchen appliance almost daily. Its speed, versatility, energy efficiency, and ease of use surpass that of our compact oven. However, dealing with the cleaning process can be quite challenging.
From cooking salmon and sausages to chicken and frozen foods, a variety of dishes go into my air fryer, necessitating cleaning after each use. Like many others, cleaning the air fryer is not at the top of my priority list, leading to occasions where it gets neglected and requires a thorough cleaning at the end of the week.
Fortunately, I have found a solution – air fryer liners.
Admittedly, I may have been late to discover this, as I have tried various cleaning hacks for the air fryer over time. These include soaking the baskets in hot water with a dishwasher tablet and using a special brush to remove grease without extensive scrubbing, according to a report from the Express.
While these methods have shown mixed results, it appears that prevention is indeed the best solution, especially when it only costs around 10p per use.
Owning a Ninja Foodi Dual Zone air fryer, I decided to purchase compatible liners. Although the exact ones I use are no longer available, a pack of 100 disposable parchment paper air fryer liners by BYKITCHEN, priced at £9.99 on Amazon, closely resembles them.
Moreover, there are numerous options available to fit any shape or size of air fryer.
Air fryer liners have revolutionized my cooking routine, dividing it into two distinct phases: pre and post-air fryer liners.
Before starting each cooking session, I simply insert a liner into the basket, ensuring that all the food to be cooked is neatly placed within the parchment’s confines.
The remaining steps of the cooking process remain unchanged, including the midway shake-up and flipping over of meat or fish as needed.
Once the cooking is completed, I can effortlessly lift out all the contents of the air fryer by grasping the edges of the liner. Depending on its condition, the liner is either disposed of or reused for another round.
In the worst-case scenario, this method might leave behind some crumbs and a hint of grease from the paper’s underside in the cooking basket, easily remedied with a quick rinse and wipe. However, more often than not, my air fryer is ready for its next cooking task without requiring any cleaning.
One thing to note is that the paper may fold or get singed by the heating element unless all four corners are secured with food. While this hasn’t been an issue for me, it’s a point worth remembering.
