“Alcaraz and Raducanu Team Up for US Open Doubles”

Share

Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed his partnership with Emma Raducanu at the US Open, following his journey of over 600 miles from the Wimbledon tournament. The duo will team up for the mixed doubles competition scheduled before the main event, despite initial doubts about their participation.

Alcaraz, fresh off his Cincinnati Open performance, where his opponent Jannik Sinner retired due to illness, wasted no time in boarding a private jet with Iga Swiatek to head to New York for the doubles tournament.

Expressing his excitement about the mixed doubles format, Alcaraz mentioned the scheduling challenges but emphasized his enthusiasm for the event and his partnership with Raducanu. The pair is scheduled to start their campaign against Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula in the opening round at 7pm on Tuesday.

Alcaraz, jokingly acknowledging Raducanu as the boss in their partnership, highlighted the opportunity provided by the US Open for them to compete in mixed doubles. After the mixed doubles, both players will focus on their singles campaigns, with Raducanu aiming to improve on her previous performances and Alcaraz looking to build on his recent success in the men’s tournament.
