Alison Hammond has undergone a significant weight loss journey following concerning health news. The renowned television personality, known for her appearances on shows like ITV’s “This Morning” and Channel 4’s “The Great British Bake Off,” shed an impressive 11 stone by making substantial changes to her lifestyle. Not only did she achieve a remarkable physical transformation, but she also managed to reverse her prediabetic condition through unwavering commitment.

Rising to public prominence after a brief stint on “Big Brother” in 2002 at the age of 22, Alison’s fifteen-day experience in the reality show paved the way for a successful and enduring television career.

Having once weighed 28 stone, Alison sought the guidance of a personal trainer to achieve her weight loss goals. Alongside her workout routine, she made pivotal dietary adjustments upon receiving a prediabetic diagnosis, eliminating sugary and fatty foods.

In an interview with Women’s Health, Alison shared her motivation, stating, “My mom’s Type 2 diabetes history made me realize the gravity of my prediabetic condition, prompting me to make significant changes. I had to cut out sweets and fatty foods.” Regular sessions with her trainer, complemented by home workouts with weights, have been instrumental in her fitness journey.

Following a holistic lifestyle overhaul, Alison proudly announced that she is no longer prediabetic, attributing her success to a disciplined approach to health and fitness. She expressed her delight in her newfound physique, highlighting her ability to wear clothes she once thought inaccessible, exclaiming, “I feel fabulous!”

According to Diabetes UK, prediabetes is characterized by elevated blood sugar levels that are below the threshold for a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Detecting and managing prediabetes can significantly lower the risk of developing full-blown diabetes, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and lifestyle modifications.

Diabetes UK outlines that an estimated 6.3 million individuals in the UK are at heightened risk of type 2 diabetes due to elevated blood sugar levels. Moreover, approximately 1.3 million people in the UK are believed to have undiagnosed type 2 diabetes, underscoring the critical need for awareness and preventive measures.
