A female beluga whale named Caspian, aged 27, has passed away at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago after efforts to save her were unsuccessful.
Caspian is the sixth animal from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to die following a significant relocation of whales and dolphins during the summer.
Since the transfer from Marineland, four belugas and one dolphin have unfortunately lost their lives.
