“Benidorm Christmas Dinner Surprise: Only £61 for Two!”

Share

A YouTube content creator shared their surprise at the bill after enjoying a Christmas dinner for two in Benidorm. Steve Marsh and his partner Alicja dined at Sherry’s Bar in the Spanish resort, where they were charged €70 in total, equivalent to just over £61 for both. Alicja was amazed that the price wasn’t €70 per person and praised the restaurant for its value.

After finishing their meal, Steve felt stuffed from the roast dinner and wine included in the package. He humorously expressed feeling “broken” before heading out for a swim in the sea, reflecting on the uniqueness of having a Christmas dinner in Spain on December 24.

While Steve and Alicja opted for a Benidorm Christmas experience, concerns have been raised about the future of the popular British holiday destination. Recent anti-tourism protests in Europe have locals expressing frustration and fearing a shift in visitor preferences, which could potentially harm the local economy.

Benidorm is also facing economic challenges, with one visitor describing it as a “ghost town” during a recent visit. A TikTok user, known as @yorkshirebargainhunter, shared videos showing the deserted streets of Benidorm, indicating a significant decline in activity.

Reports of decreasing tourist numbers have led tourism officials to suggest that visitors may be avoiding certain destinations due to feeling unwelcome. Miguel Pérez-Marsá, head of the nightlife association, mentioned that desired tourists are being deterred and are choosing alternative locations for their vacations.
