British Tourist Vanishes in Southeast Asia

A British tourist has disappeared while traveling abroad, last seen on Christmas Day via FaceTime.

Mark Counsell, a 31-year-old from Pontypool, South Wales, is believed to be in Thailand or the Kuala Lumpur region of Malaysia. He had been exploring Southeast Asia and was last visible to his family during a video call on December 25. Authorities have been alerted about his disappearance, and efforts are underway by Gwent Police to locate him.

A representative from the police department stated, “We are seeking information to locate Mark Counsell, 31, who has been reported missing. Mark was last observed on Thursday, December 25, during a video call, as he has been traveling in Thailand recently.”

Mark is described as a Caucasian male, standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. During his last sighting, he was wearing a khaki Fred Perry T-shirt.

Individuals with any information regarding his location are urged to reach out to Gwent Police at 101 or send a direct message via social media, mentioning log reference 2600001644. Police have also directly appealed to Mark to make contact.
