A powerful tornado wreaked havoc in the village of Pomas, located in southern France, causing injuries to numerous individuals and extensive damage to over 300 residences. Thankfully, there have been no reports of missing persons following the disaster. The Aude prefecture indicated that as of Tuesday morning, 1,400 households remained without power. The tornado was captured on video swirling above the town of Verzeille, situated a short distance east of Pomas, with many homes in its path sustaining shattered windows.
In the aftermath, a man was pictured amidst the wreckage of a house that had been severely damaged by the tornado in Pomas. Additionally, debris cluttered the floor of the Saint Julien et Sainte Basilisse church after its roof collapsed due to the tornado. Fallen trees were observed in a cemetery in Pomas post the calamity. In another scene, two men were seen covering the roof of a building with a tarp in Pomas, while pedestrians passed by a fallen tree near damaged residences in the same area.
