“Father-Daughter Incest Scandal Unfolds”

Share

A man and his daughter are facing charges related to incest after DNA tests reportedly confirmed that the man is the biological father of his daughter’s infant son. Detectives Charles Norris and Ethan Core from the Erwin Police Department have been actively involved in conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence since May 9, 2024.

The case unfolded when Mackenzie Elizabeth Hicks, then 18 years old, went to the police station and accused her father, Julius Grant Jackson, of sexually assaulting her multiple times, starting when she was around 13 years old. Hicks initially mentioned that Jackson was aware of the assaults but never reported them, as stated in a search warrant filed in the case.

In September 2024, Danielle Hicks, Mackenzie’s biological mother, contacted Detective Core and disclosed that her daughter was pregnant as a result of abuse by Jackson. She indicated that she believed some of the encounters between her daughter and Jackson may have been consensual.

Subsequently, on September 25, Detective Norris obtained a search warrant for DNA samples from Jackson and Hicks, along with potential evidentiary items. DNA analysis by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation confirmed Jackson’s paternity. When authorities tried to apprehend Jackson, he and an accomplice attempted to flee in a truck, leading to a brief chase and their subsequent capture.

Upon inspecting the truck, police discovered several loaded firearms. Jackson, aged 40 and residing at 214 St. Matthews Road in Erwin, is facing multiple charges, including felony incest, committing a felony crime against nature, fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, hit and run, resisting a public officer, possessing a fictitious driving license, and disregarding traffic signals.

Hicks, now 20 and living at the same address, has had her bail set at £1 million and is charged with felony incest and committing a felony crime against nature.
