Five men from different communities are facing charges for their involvement in a reckless driving incident that occurred at a large vehicle gathering in London, Ontario’s southern area earlier this year. The London Police Service (LPS) received reports of dangerous driving behavior in a commercial parking lot on Roxburgh Road around 9 p.m. ET on May 9. Following the incident, the LPS road safety unit conducted an investigation and analyzed surveillance footage related to the event.

Authorities emphasized that public roads and parking lots are not suitable venues for stunts, racing, or other hazardous driving activities. Drivers are urged to prioritize safe vehicle operation, comply with traffic regulations, and prioritize the safety of all individuals nearby, including passengers, pedestrians, and other road users.

Subsequently, after the inquiry, five individuals hailing from Fort Erie, Milverton, Walkteron, and West Lorne were pinpointed and charged with a total of 74 violations under the Highway Traffic Act and related to vehicle offenses. Moreover, five vehicles were seized and towed as part of the enforcement actions.

The charges encompass offenses such as stunt driving, operating vehicles unsafely, and various violations related to vehicle equipment, as stated by the police. The public is encouraged to report any instances of dangerous driving and suspicious vehicle activity if it is safe to do so. Individuals with information regarding the incident are urged to reach out to the LPS or Crime Stoppers.
