Numerous cities around the world are canceling their New Year’s Eve celebrations due to credible threats of terrorist attacks.
This decision comes after the FBI prevented an alleged bombing plot in Los Angeles scheduled for New Year’s Eve. Four suspects were apprehended earlier this month in the Mojave Desert, east of Los Angeles, as they were practicing their scheme, as disclosed by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli during a media briefing.
Officials displayed surveillance footage showing the suspects placing a large black object on a table in the desert. The suspects were arrested before they could construct a functional explosive device, officials confirmed.

The criminal complaint identifies the four suspects as Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Tina Lai, 41. All are from the Los Angeles region, according to Essayli.
While Los Angeles city authorities have not declared any New Year’s Eve event cancellations, several cities have downsized their festivities, as per a report by the Mirror US.
Paris
In Paris, the planned New Year’s Eve concert has been called off following security concerns, as reported by local news source sortiraparis.com.
Authorities advised the mayor to cancel the concert to reduce the risk of overcrowding and chaos, especially considering the usual large crowds at the Champs-Elysées performance.
