This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Many Android users have taken to online forums to express their frustrations, with some mentioning the need to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain a usable battery level.
The battery bug appears to have affected Google’s Pixel phone series, prompting the tech giant to acknowledge the issue and work on a solution. Models such as the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A have been reported to experience this issue.
According to insights from 9to5Google, the battery drain issue is linked to excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to operate continuously in the background even when not actively engaged.
Affected users have shared their experiences, with one individual named Phil mentioning ongoing battery problems on Pixel 7A devices since mid-March, including rapid depletion and slow charging. Another user, Fz, highlighted increased battery drainage on their Pixel 9 Pro XL following a March update, leading to frequent charging cycles and overnight battery loss.
However, not all Pixel users seem to be encountering these battery issues. For instance, a user named Warren reported normal battery performance on their Pixel 9 Pro without any significant drain over time.
