Lando Norris secured his place as the 11th British Formula One champion and McLaren’s first since Lewis Hamilton’s victory in 2008 by finishing third at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix recently. Apart from this achievement, the 26-year-old also fulfilled a costly agreement with McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown.
The publicized deal between Norris and Brown, dating back to 2024, involved a promise made by Brown to gift Norris a specified car if Norris were to win the championship. Although Norris fell short in 2024, finishing behind Max Verstappen, he redeemed himself in 2025 with McLaren’s dominant car, edging out Verstappen by two points to claim the championship title.
Norris revealed his dream car, a Pagani Zonda, during interactions with fans at a Grand Prix event in 2025. The Pagani Zonda, with a price tag exceeding £1 million, is the car Norris desires to add to his growing collection, which already includes a Ferrari F40, a McLaren 765LT Spider, and a Lamborghini Miura.
Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time F1 world champion, previously owned a Zonda 760 LH for seven years before selling it in 2021. Hamilton’s Zonda met a tragic fate in 2023 when a new owner crashed it inside a tunnel in Wales.
If Norris persuades Brown to fulfill their agreement and acquire the Pagani Zonda, he will join the ranks of F1 stars who have expressed admiration for this model. However, to defend his title in 2026, Norris must be wary of his teammate, Oscar Piastri, who aims to bounce back after a late-season setback.
Reflecting on his season, Norris expressed pride in his performance, noting the significant progress he made compared to his earlier years in F1. Despite falling short of his ultimate goal, Norris remains optimistic and determined to build on the strengths gained during the season.
