A senior citizen has been arrested for murder following a disturbance on Christmas Day near a retirement community in St Asaph, Denbighshire. Law enforcement responded to the incident, where a 68-year-old man was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have announced that a 66-year-old man has been formally charged with murder related to the case and is scheduled to appear in court today. The individual, identified as James Ronald Hughes, is set to face proceedings on Monday, December 29, as confirmed by North Wales Police, who have also involved the Independent Office for Police Conduct in the investigation.

According to a statement from North Wales Police, the fatal event unfolded on High Street around noon on Christmas Day after a report of a disturbance. Following the tragic outcome of the victim’s hospitalization, James Ronald Hughes, residing on High Street in St Asaph, was arrested and charged by the investigating officers. Hughes is expected to attend Llandudno Magistrates’ Court for his hearing.
