“Sky Live Discontinued: Disappointing News for Sky TV Users”

Share

Sky TV users are in for disappointing news as one of their recently launched products, Sky Live, is set to be discontinued starting next month. Sky Live, introduced in 2023 as an innovative entertainment device for TV users, is equipped with motion sensors and a built-in camera to provide interactive features on Sky’s Glass TV platform. Subscribers paying £6 per month were able to access interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle, along with fitness monitoring capabilities.

Additionally, users could make Zoom calls and connect with friends and family to watch content, such as Sky Sports, through the device’s camera. Despite its promising features, Sky Live did not meet the expected popularity levels, leading to its discontinuation on December 4. However, Sky assures users that games like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available without the need for an extra subscription.

A spokesperson from Sky emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, highlighting recent advancements in the Sky Glass range and broadband services. They expressed pride in the ambition behind Sky Live, noting that the gaming feature was well-received. Moving forward, Sky will focus on enhancing products, content offerings, and customer service. Customers who purchased Sky Live will receive refunds and instructions on returning the device with free postage.

Impacted individuals can expect email notifications regarding the changes, including details on refunds and returns. Stay updated on the latest news stories by subscribing to email alerts.
