A professional darts player aims to win a £60,000 prize following a successful comeback from two strokes. The World Championship may be over, but the festive darts season continues with the ADC Global Championship Grand Final in Portsmouth on Sunday. The event, which will feature eight players, can be watched live on Pluto TV.
Among the competitors is Jack Tweddell, who narrowly missed a spot at Ally Pally due to his strong performance on the PDC Challenge Tour. The 30-year-old from Swindon also participated in several Players Championship events and is eyeing a PDC Tour card at Q-School later this month. Currently, his focus is on the ADC Championship, where players are vying for a share of the £150,000 prize pool, with the winner taking home £60,000.
Tweddell, who faced health challenges in recent years, including two strokes, expressed gratitude for being able to compete again after a hiatus from the game. His determination paid off, as he is now among the top amateur players with aspirations of going pro. Despite pressure in his youth to excel in darts, his perspective has shifted post-health issues, allowing him to play with more ease and consistency.
In the quarter-finals, Tweddell will go up against Tom Sykes in a match scheduled to start at 1pm. The semi-finals will follow at 3pm, with the final at 4pm, all to be broadcast live on Pluto TV’s MODUS Super Series channel.
