Share

Britons are advised to prepare essential items as severe weather conditions are expected in 61 regions, with heavy rain and strong winds on the horizon.

A low-pressure system is moving across the UK, set to bring significant rainfall of over 80mm in certain areas of the South West, while northern regions may see snowfall.

The Met Office forecasts continued unsettled weather for the week, with heavy rain posing a risk of flooding in already saturated areas. Residents under weather warnings are encouraged to assemble an emergency kit containing torches, batteries, and a mobile phone power pack.

The Met Office warns of successive Atlantic weather systems causing wet and windy conditions nationwide, with National Severe Weather Warnings in effect. A band of rain is expected to sweep in from the west, potentially leading to snow in northern regions.

A deep low-pressure system is anticipated to bring further wet and windy weather, potentially causing flooding in sensitive areas already affected by persistent rain. Weather warnings for rain and wind are in place for parts of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Rainfall warnings are issued for multiple regions, with heavy rain expected to accumulate, especially in higher ground areas like Dartmoor and the Brecon Beacons. Strong winds are also forecasted.

Additional rain alerts cover various regions, including the South East, South West, Wales, and West Midlands. Northern Ireland faces a warning for wind and rain, with gusts of up to 70mph expected.

Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions as severe weather conditions approach.
