Following the recent heatwave in the UK, temperatures have significantly dropped. However, the Met Office has forecasted a forthcoming increase in temperatures.

Last week, the UK experienced temperatures above 30C amidst a heatwave across Europe, leading to destructive wildfires in Spain, Greece, and Portugal.

The scorching conditions that prevailed over the weekend have subsided, with temperatures now in the low 20Cs, but a shift is expected soon.

The Met Office has announced on social media that delightful warmth is on its way to Britain in the next few days.

According to the Met Office’s recent update, high pressure will bring mostly settled weather and slightly higher temperatures, although not as extreme as before.

For the upcoming Bank Holiday Monday, the nationwide forecast indicates fair weather with light winds and continued sunny spells from the weekend.

In Greater Manchester, temperatures are projected to reach highs of 24C and lows of 12C this weekend, with minimal rainfall in the current forecast as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Additionally, the Met Office has disclosed that summer 2025 could potentially be the hottest on record, with the average temperature for June to mid-August surpassing the long-term meteorological average. Scientist Emily Carlisle highlighted the persistent warmth driven by various factors.

The warmest UK summers on record, including 2018, 2006, 2003, 2022, and 1976, may soon be joined by summer 2025 as data suggests a trend toward one of the hottest summers in the UK’s history.
