A racehorse trainer from Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia, faced disqualification after a heated exchange with a racing official. Garry Lunn, a seasoned trainer with a track record of over 500 wins, including more than 100 at the Dubbo racecourse, was found to have engaged in improper behavior during a stable audit inspection.

During the inspection by RacingNSW officials in September, discrepancies were discovered in the stable return records. Subsequent to another inspection the following month, steward Xavier Dalton was subjected to aggressive and insulting remarks from Lunn, including derogatory comments questioning Dalton’s competence.

Allegations were made that Lunn used offensive language, referring to Dalton as the “dopiest Steward” and other inappropriate terms. The situation escalated when Lunn followed Dalton out of the stable, continuing to berate him even after Dalton attempted to leave the premises.

As a result of his actions, Lunn was charged with obstructing Dalton from performing his duties and engaging in disrespectful behavior. Despite denying the charges, Lunn was found guilty and received a three-month disqualification for the first offense and a nine-month disqualification for the second offense, to be served concurrently from November 14, 2025, to August 14, 2026.
