An investigation has been initiated by the authorities following reports of a man in his thirties being sexually assaulted on Christmas Eve.
Sussex Police are seeking information in connection with the incident that occurred near Pells Pool on Brook Street in Lewes, between 10 pm on Christmas Eve and 3 am on Christmas Day.
Pells Pool, an open-air swimming facility, is where the incident took place. The victim is currently receiving support from specialized officers and care providers, as confirmed by the authorities.
Detective Inspector Gavin Patch mentioned, “In light of the investigation, we want to assure the public that a dedicated team is actively pursuing all possible leads.
“As part of our efforts, there will be a noticeable police presence in areas including Pells Pool, Brook Street, Eastgate Street, and Lansdown Place in Lewes.
“The public’s cooperation is crucial in piecing together the sequence of events, whether they are residents or visitors to the area.
“Were you in Lewes on Christmas Eve night and observed anything unusual? Do you possess any footage or information that could be helpful? If you believe you have relevant details, it is imperative that you reach out to the authorities.”
