Anthony Joshua has been hospitalized following a car crash in Nigeria that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when Joshua’s Jeep collided with a stationary truck. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua sustained minor injuries in the accident.

According to local reports, Joshua was seated in the back of the vehicle at the time of the crash and suffered only minor injuries. The accident involved a two-car convoy, consisting of a Pajero SUV and a Lexus SUV, with Joshua’s security detail following in another vehicle.

Eyewitnesses described the sequence of events leading to the crash, stating that Joshua was in the Lexus SUV with three other occupants when the collision occurred. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives at the scene of the accident.

Authorities are investigating the incident, with initial reports suggesting that Joshua’s vehicle swerved into the truck after a tire burst, causing him to lose control. Despite the ordeal, Joshua was reported to be in good condition and receiving medical attention.

Joshua, who had recently participated in an exhibition fight in Miami, Florida, expressed his plans for the future, hinting at a significant year ahead. He also reignited his rivalry with Tyson Fury in a social media post following his latest victory.

The long-anticipated showdown between Joshua and Fury may finally materialize, with reports indicating potential negotiations under the supervision of Riyadh Season and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. Joshua’s call-out to Fury after his recent win further fueled speculation about a future matchup between the two heavyweight boxers.
