Ronnie O’Sullivan, a prominent figure in snooker, is set to make a historic attempt this year by competing in two world titles at the Crucible within a month. The 50-year-old, known for his competitiveness, will face off against players on the senior circuit as he aims for an eighth World Championship title in his 34th consecutive appearance.
In a new development, O’Sullivan will also debut at the World Seniors Snooker Championship in Yorkshire, starting on May 6 and spanning five days. The World Seniors Snooker Tour has confirmed his participation, highlighting him as one of the most commercially successful and captivating figures in the sport.
Joining O’Sullivan at the event will be other world champions like Mark Williams, Stuart Bingham, and Ken Doherty, along with a strong field that includes Jimmy White, Matthew Stevens, and more. The Chairman of the tour expressed excitement about O’Sullivan’s debut, anticipating increased ticket sales and heightened interest in the event.
Following the 2025 World Championship, the World Snooker Tour relaxed rules allowing professional players aged 45 or older in the top 64 rankings to compete in the veterans’ circuit. O’Sullivan, with seven world titles to his name, will seek to add an eighth after his last victory in 2022.
