Sky viewers are in for a change this week as the network merges Sky Cinema Animation with Sky Cinema Family on April 30. The move aims to streamline services by consolidating family-friendly films into one channel, Channel 304. Despite the consolidation, popular titles like Shrek, The Secret Life of Pets, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will still be available.
While Sky Cinema Animation will no longer exist as a standalone channel, it will make a return during school holidays to entertain kids. The temporary availability is scheduled from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.
In addition to this change, Sky has ventured into the home security market, offering new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month with a £15 upfront fee. The system boasts features like full HD video recording, mobile alerts, two-way audio, and cloud video storage.
For those seeking enhanced security, Sky presents a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 monthly and a £20 upfront charge. This package includes an indoor camera and advanced app controls for added convenience.
According to Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, the goal is to provide easy access to premium smart technology that caters to customers’ needs while remaining user-friendly and affordable.
