“Fitbit Introduces Sleek Fitbit Air, Screenless Wearable with Impressive Battery Life”

Share

Fitbit, a pioneer in activity tracking wearables for over 15 years, has introduced a new device named Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air does not feature a screen but adopts a sleek and minimalistic design akin to popular wristbands like Whoop bands.

Although the absence of a screen means users lose certain functionalities like message notifications and real-time health stats, the Fitbit Air offers notable advantages. It boasts a comfortable bracelet-style strap, as confirmed by a recent study conducted by Google, ranking it above its competitors in terms of comfort.

One standout feature of the Fitbit Air is its impressive battery life, lasting up to a week on a single charge. Additionally, its fast-charging capability provides a full day’s power in just five minutes, and a new magnetic charger with bi-directional technology eliminates the need for specific orientations when recharging.

Despite its simplistic appearance, the Fitbit Air remains true to its brand by offering comprehensive health monitoring features. It tracks sleep patterns, daily activity levels, exercise routines, heart rate, and can even detect irregular heart rhythms like AFib, alerting users accordingly.

Internally, the Fitbit Air houses various sensors including an optical heart rate monitor, a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation, and a temperature sensor. All data collected is seamlessly transferred to smartphones for a holistic health overview via the Google Health Coach app.

Moreover, the Fitbit Air is water-resistant up to 50 meters and comes in four stylish colors: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender. As for pricing, the Fitbit Air will be available for purchase at £84.99.
