A new television judge is making his debut, following in the footsteps of a tough act. CBS Media Ventures unveiled a trailer on Thursday for “Adam’s Law,” a new daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the renowned Judge Judy.
Fans of Judge Judy’s sharp wit, fiery demeanor, and no-nonsense approach are in for a treat with Levy, who seems to bring the same courtroom energy. In the trailer, Levy is shown delivering witty and cutting remarks that would make his mother proud.
Interestingly, Judge Judy initially had reservations about passing on the gavel. She humorously admitted in the trailer that she wasn’t keen on her son taking on the show several years ago because she wasn’t ready to give it up and believed he had the talent to surpass her.
The upcoming series, executive produced by Judge Judy, is scheduled to premiere on September 14. It follows the conclusion of the original “Judge Judy” show, which enjoyed a successful 25-season run on CBS, attracting an average of 10 million viewers per episode.
Levy, with over 25 years of legal experience, including serving as a district attorney and teaching law, emphasized the importance of honesty on “Adam’s Law.” He aims to maintain the same commitment to justice that made his mother a household name.
Confident in her son’s abilities, Judge Judy believes that “Adam’s Law” will become a top-rated daytime program, appealing to viewers who have supported her for decades. The show will air on various CBS-owned stations in the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as in Canada on Citytv and Citytv+ starting September 14.
