In a surprising turn of events, Dylan Walsh, known for his role in “Heated Rivalry,” hinted at the possibility of filming twelve additional episodes for the popular hockey romance series. The 62-year-old American actor disclosed this information in a personalized video on Cameo, sparking speculation among fans about the potential for multiple upcoming seasons.
During the video, Walsh, who portrays the father of hockey player Shane Hollander (portrayed by Canadian actor Hudson Williams) on the show, expressed his fondness for being part of “Heated Rivalry.” He mentioned his excitement about returning to Canada to film more episodes, suggesting that a total of twelve episodes might be on the horizon.
However, Walsh’s remarks caused a stir, leading to him issuing an apology and temporarily suspending his Cameo account. In his statement to CBC News, he acknowledged speaking impulsively and creating confusion by speculating on the show’s production schedule and episode count without official confirmation.
Despite the buzz surrounding the series, a representative for “Heated Rivalry” has yet to respond to inquiries regarding Walsh’s comments. Alongside his role in “Heated Rivalry,” Walsh has been involved in various TV series and films, including “Nip/Tuck,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and “Superman & Lois.”
The speculation triggered by Walsh’s video has fueled discussions on social media, with some fans theorizing that production may be underway for both the second and potentially unannounced third seasons of the show. Notably, the first season of “Heated Rivalry” consisted of six episodes, and series creator Jacob Tierney previously expressed a preference for tighter, six-episode seasons.
Based on Canadian author Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series, “Heated Rivalry” has garnered critical acclaim, receiving awards such as the Peabody Award and the Canadian Screen Award for best drama series. Following its successful debut on Crave in November 2025, the series was swiftly renewed for a second season, currently being filmed in Toronto and Montreal.
Recently, Crave Canada announced the addition of five new cast members for the show’s upcoming season, generating excitement among fans and the entertainment community. Among the new cast members are Emily Hampshire, Edvin Ryding, Robert Naylor, Sabrina Jalees, and Priyanka, who expressed delight in joining the “Heated Rivalry” universe.
