The Windsor Police Service has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man for impaired driving following a car collision with a house. Responding to a call on Armanda Street close to Malden Road just past 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers discovered the vehicle lodged on the front lawn of the residence, its front bumper in contact with the steps. The driver was still inside the vehicle at the time of police arrival.
Law enforcement officers observed various indicators of potential impairment in the driver, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, lack of balance, and drowsiness. Subsequently, the individual was apprehended and transported to the Windsor police station, where a breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit. The man faces charges of impaired driving in relation to the incident.
Fortunately, no injuries were recorded during the crash. However, the house sustained over $10,000 in damages as a result of the collision.
