Moise Bombito revealed that a conversation with Canadian national team coach Jesse Marsch influenced his decision. Despite facing physical challenges, the 26-year-old center back was determined not to miss the FIFA World Cup held in his home country. Recent reports from his club team, Nice, confirmed that Bombito will undergo surgery on his left tibia again due to ongoing pain issues.

In an interview with Nice, Bombito shared his commitment to representing his country at the World Cup, even though his body was signaling otherwise. He sustained a tibia fracture on October 5 but managed to return in time to participate in Canada’s matches this summer. Despite playing through discomfort, he acknowledged his limitations during games.

Bombito expressed his disappointment at the need for surgery but emphasized his determination to recover fully. The persistent pain during physical activities has been a constant reminder of his injury, prompting him to seek a resolution with the support of his medical team.

Having transitioned to Nice in 2024 from the Colorado Rapids, Bombito’s initial season was promising with significant game time. However, his second season was marred by injuries, limiting his appearances to just two matches.

The Canadian defender’s resolve to overcome his physical setbacks highlights his dedication to returning to full fitness and contributing at the highest level.
