Search teams have located the body of a young boy who had been missing in Clyde River for more than a week, as confirmed by the town’s mayor. The incident occurred on August 6 when two adolescents were on makeshift rafts and were swept away by the current, leading one of them to fall into the water and not resurface. Both youths were without life jackets, as stated in a previous RCMP report.
Mayor Liemikie Palluq of Clyde River announced on Friday morning that the body was discovered around 5 p.m. the previous evening. The body was found on the opposite side of the bay from where the boy initially went into the water. Requests for further details from the RCMP by CBC remain unanswered.
