“Fans Start Viral Chant at Harry Styles’ Tour”

Share

In a scenario at Harry Styles’ Together, Together tour, fans were caught belting out the lyrics of Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Telephone Busy” during the instrumental break of Styles’ song “Ready, Steady, Go,” creating a new viral trend gaining momentum.

The trend originated from a TikTok fan remix by user @millsberry75 in March, blending the two songs. 5 Seconds of Summer later incorporated the remix into a DJ set at Salt Shed Chicago during Lollapalooza festival. This fan-driven trend has now transcended to Styles’ live shows, with videos showing an increasing number of fans joining in on the chant.

The enthusiasm behind this trend is rooted in the history between One Direction, where Styles rose to fame, and 5 Seconds of Summer. The latter initially gained exposure when Louis Tomlinson from One Direction shared their music online, leading to collaborations on tours and a shared fan base.

5 Seconds of Summer has acknowledged the excitement generated by the fan-led chant, with drummer Ashton Irwin expressing appreciation for the trend and the band reposting fan videos. While Styles has yet to directly address the trend, the growing volume of the chant suggests he may soon take notice.

With several upcoming shows, including a series at Madison Square Garden and Rogers Stadium, fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of this trend, with hopes of the chants reaching new heights and spreading to other venues.
