“Man fatally stabbed in Lewisham prompts murder inquiry”

A 23-year-old man tragically passed away after being stabbed in the chest, despite the valiant efforts of medical personnel to save him.

Responding to a distress call on New Year’s Eve, emergency teams, including an air ambulance, rushed to Lewisham, London, at the junction of Grove Street and Evelyn Street.

The victim was discovered with a stab wound to his chest around 12:35 pm. Despite the swift actions of paramedics, he was declared deceased at the scene, prompting the launch of a murder inquiry.

Specialist officers are providing support to the victim’s family, who have been notified of the tragic event. Detective Chief Inspector Sam Townsend, heading the investigation, expressed condolences to the grieving family and friends.
