Alan Titchmarsh, the popular TV personality aged 76, provided an update on his health nearly a decade after undergoing knee surgery due to damage from years of gardening activities. The surgery, which took place in 2018, involved the removal of damaged tissue and cartilage to alleviate his knee problems.

In a recent update, Alan appeared on screen for the Love Your New Year’s Day show. During a conversation with guests Bonnie Langford and Gregor Fisher, the topic of age arose. Alan emphasized the importance of balancing realism with a sense of adventure as one ages.

Despite his previous health challenges, including a broken ankle during lockdown, Alan remained active by taking 26,000 steps daily and tending to his garden until the accident. Reflecting on his ankle injury, he expressed frustration at regaining weight and the challenges of being dependent on others during his recovery.

Alan humorously demonstrated his physical resilience by getting down on his knees and then effortlessly standing up, drawing praise from Bonnie and a playful acknowledgment of potential consequences. Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh airs on ITV1 every Sunday at 9:30 am.
