“Tyson Fury Eyes Anthony Joshua Showdown”

Share

Tyson Fury has disclosed his top three desired opponents as he prepares for his boxing comeback, with a potential bout against Anthony Joshua topping the list.

After announcing his retirement in January following consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, the ‘Gypsy King’ has reversed course and intensified his training, currently honing his skills in Thailand for a significant return to the ring.

The 37-year-old Fury has been training alongside WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena and has expressed interest in facing off against Usyk, Joshua, and Fabio Wardley. A recent social media post by Fury showed him eyeing up these heavyweight rivals.

Fury has also hinted at a potential fight with Wardley, indicating a possible matchup later in 2026. Wardley, who secured a remarkable victory over Joseph Parker last October, was promoted to full champion status after Usyk relinquished the title.

While a trilogy fight with Usyk seems unlikely, fans are eagerly awaiting a showdown between Fury and Joshua, although uncertainty looms over Joshua’s future following a recent tragic car accident in Nigeria.

Promoter Frank Warren has acknowledged the challenges in scheduling the Fury-Joshua fight, suggesting a possible delay until late 2026 due to the impact of the accident on Joshua’s mental state. Warren emphasized the need for sensitivity and support during this difficult time for the boxers.
