The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for snow and rain from midnight until 5 pm on Tuesday, affecting the northern parts of the country.
According to the national weather service, a deep low-pressure system named Storm Chandra is expected to bring wet and windy conditions to various regions before heading north, leading to heavy rain turning into snow in colder areas.
Forecasts indicate that significant snowfall, up to 5cm in Scotland and Northern England, with higher elevations potentially receiving up to 20cm. Additionally, amber wind warnings have been issued for eastern Northern Ireland and amber rain warnings for specific areas in southern England.
