“Manhattan Unveils Aero 4K Set-Top Box for Free TV Access”

A new option has emerged for households seeking TV access without monthly fees. Initially introduced in 2024, Freely promised live channel access through a broadband connection, exclusively on select new TVs. However, in the past 18 months, brands like Hisense, Toshiba, and Sharp have expanded the range of compatible screens. Until recently, individuals desiring live and on-demand content on Freely had to purchase a new television at a local tech store.

The latest development comes from Manhattan’s technology team, unveiling the Aero 4K set-top box. This device enables over 60 live channels and on-demand content access on any existing TV at home, free of cost and without a costly subscription.

The Aero 4K features voice search, viewing recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live shows. Users with subscriptions to platforms like Disney+ and Netflix can also access these apps through the box.

Priced at £69.99, the device is gaining popularity rapidly. Currys is the first UK store offering the Manhattan Aero 4K, and it is currently sold out. However, it will return soon, as confirmed by a Currys spokesperson to Mirror Online.

Interested buyers can register their email on Currys’ website to receive alerts when the product is back in stock. Additionally, other retailers such as Amazon and John Lewis are expected to start selling the device soon.

Once available again, the Aero 4K will compete with devices like Virgin’s Stream box and Sky Stream, all eliminating the need for traditional aerials or dishes by delivering content through the internet.

Transitioning to streaming offers benefits like simplified installation processes without requiring a technician’s visit and receiving regular updates over the air.

Freely recently announced surpassing one million users, indicating a rising trend of abandoning traditional TV viewing methods in favor of streaming services.
