Amazon is set to release a new streaming device, the Fire TV Stick HD, offering enhanced features not found in its current models. Priced at £39.99, this latest entry-level gadget boasts a sleeker and slimmer design than its predecessors, making it more convenient for users to use and carry around.

The new Fire TV Stick HD is 30% narrower than previous models, facilitating easy installation behind TVs and enhancing portability for on-the-go usage. An added advantage is that it can draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.

Amazon described the new device as the slimmest streaming device in their lineup, optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port for a more streamlined setup behind the TV. It provides access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix, along with a remote featuring Alexa voice search and quick app launch buttons.

While the Fire TV Stick HD does not support 4K resolution, it offers full HD viewing, suitable for most households’ entertainment needs. Amazon highlights significant speed enhancements in this new model, touting over 30% faster performance compared to previous HD sticks, enabling quicker start-up and app loading times.

With the latest Fire operating system, users can expect a cleaner interface, improved content recommendations, and simplified content discovery. The Fire TV Stick HD is scheduled for release on April 29th, priced at £39.99.
