Christine Lampard Steps Down from Lorraine Role

Share

Christine Lampard has officially announced that she will no longer be filling in for Lorraine Kelly due to upcoming ITV cutbacks.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Lorraine’s show would be shortened to just half-hour daily episodes for 30 weeks each year. Consequently, there will no longer be a need for replacements as Lorraine will host a shorter show five days a week.

Despite hosting fewer episodes, Christine and Ranvir Singh will still be part of the ITV Daytime lineup, with Ranvir hosting Good Morning Britain and Christine on Loose Women. They currently cover for Lorraine every Friday and during school holidays.

Christine confirmed her departure via Instagram, expressing gratitude for her time on the Lorraine show. She mentioned that many team members are embarking on new paths in 2026 and thanked everyone for their support.

In July, Kevin Lygo, ITV’s managing director for media and entertainment, revealed significant changes to the daytime schedule, with ITN taking over the production of Good Morning Britain starting in January. This adjustment will result in the show being off the air for several weeks annually.

According to an insider from The Mirror, there are concerns among Lorraine’s staff that she may decide to leave the show due to the upcoming reductions in the show’s length. The team fears a decline in the show’s quality, given the changes, as Lorraine and her team are known for their high standards.
