A young woman woke up to a horrifying situation when she found an intruder on top of her in her own bed. Recounting the traumatic experience on an episode of I Survived…, she described feeling the intruder’s weight pressing down on her and attempting to remove her underwear while holding a knife to her throat. Despite the danger, she bravely fought back against the attacker, who retaliated by stabbing her in the face.

In a desperate struggle for survival, the woman managed to escape to the bathroom, where she tried to stem the bleeding from her injuries. Cut off from help due to the power outage caused by the assailant, she used her mobile phone to call 911 for assistance. Richard Everett, the emergency dispatcher, provided crucial guidance that ultimately saved her life, advising her not to open the door when she heard knocking, as the attacker was on the other side.

The police later apprehended the assailant, a 26-year-old security guard named Bryan Wane Gibson, who had a history of misconduct while working for Pinkerton Security. Despite numerous complaints, the company had continuously relocated Gibson to different posts, eventually placing him at the victim’s apartment complex where the attack occurred. Following the traumatic incident, the victim took legal action against Pinkerton Security and received a significant settlement, allowing her to establish a successful career as a family lawyer.

Even years after the ordeal, the survivor remains grateful to Richard Everett for his role in saving her life, acknowledging him as a pivotal figure in her journey. Meanwhile, the attacker, Gibson, was released in 2015 and is now a registered sex offender residing in Texas, USA.
