“Fatal Crash Claims Mother of Four: Investigation Ongoing”

A tragic road collision resulted in the death of a mother of four and left four others hospitalized, including a young girl, following an unnecessary crash. The incident occurred on the A4119 bypass near Williamstown in the Rhondda Valley, claiming the life of Donna Ball, 48. The car’s driver, who sustained life-threatening injuries, passed away in the hospital the next day.

A 19-year-old van driver from Newport, south Wales, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending further investigations until March 30.

The victim’s husband expressed devastation over the loss of Donna, acknowledging the exceptional care provided by emergency services, including the air ambulance and medical teams at the University Hospital of Wales. He also thanked the staff at Owl Ward and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales for their support of their daughter.

The husband described Donna’s death as irreplaceable, stating that their lives will never be the same without her. He appreciated the outpouring of love and sympathy from well-wishers, emphasizing Donna’s impact on many lives.

Authorities are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage related to the collision, particularly information on the van driver’s behavior leading up to the incident. South Wales Police confirmed the details of the collision involving the van driver and Donna Ball, noting that the investigation is ongoing and the family is being supported by Family Liaison Officers.
