The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog covering 11 regions. According to the national weather agency, disruptions to bus, train, and flight services are expected due to the dense fog in parts of Yorkshire and the North East until 9 am.
Visibility is forecasted to be below 100m in some areas, with the fog expected to dissipate gradually throughout the morning. Drivers are advised to ensure their fog lights are functional before commencing their journeys.
In response to the weather alert, the Met Office advises travelers to check road conditions, allocate extra travel time, and adjust plans accordingly. Additionally, individuals are reminded to stay updated on travel disruptions and follow guidance from their transport providers.
The weather forecast indicates the likelihood of more fog later today and tomorrow morning. Today, early fog will clear by late morning, giving way to sunshine and showers, with the heaviest showers expected in the west and southwest regions. The evening will bring cloud cover with showers in the west and fog patches in central and eastern areas, posing a frost risk in the north.
Tomorrow, fog patches will gradually lift, leading to a day of sunny intervals and showers, predominantly in the west but diminishing in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to remain near average for this time of year.
