Kirstie Allsopp, known for her show “Location Location Location,” recently surprised many by secretly tying the knot with her partner of 21 years, Ben Andersen. The couple exchanged vows in a low-key ceremony at Mayfair’s Grosvenor Chapel, a significant location for Kirstie.
Initially, Ben had been against marriage due to his past experience, but eventually, he changed his mind, leading to a spontaneous wedding. Their two sons and Ben’s older sons served as ushers during the ceremony, which was attended by close family members and friends.
Notably absent from the event was Kirstie’s longtime co-host Phil Spencer, who couldn’t make it on short notice. Reflecting on the secrecy of the wedding, Kirstie mentioned that only a few people were informed about it just days before the ceremony.
The couple opted for a simple and quick wedding, with Kirstie choosing not to have a traditional hen night. The decision to marry at the Mayfair venue held sentimental value for Kirstie, as it was where her parents and grandparents had also tied the knot.
The intimate ceremony, featuring a selection of music including The Beatles’ classic “All You Need Is Love,” lasted around 40 minutes. Although Kirstie did not elaborate on her reasons for keeping the wedding private, she expressed a desire to avoid the spotlight associated with being a bride.
Despite the intention to keep the wedding under wraps, Kirstie later shared a photo of the day on Instagram after realizing paparazzi were present. In her caption, she expressed gratitude to those who helped make their special day possible on short notice.
